The Scots Dumpy Club was re-formed in 1993 to promote the breeding and keeping of Scots Dumpies, although it is not certain when the former Club ceased to exist. Until 1993 the Rare Poultry Society was responsible for maintenance of the breed.
Since formation of its own Club, the Scots Dumpy breed has benfited from increasing popularity, and there are now in excess of 100 breeders around the UK, most of whom are also members of the Club.
One of the primary aims of the Club is to promote the breed. An important forum for this is the
Annual General Meeting, which takes place in December at the Poultry Club National Show. We try hard to
make this a friendly affair, with drinks and snacks for members after the official business has been taken
care of - a unique event amongst the poultry breed clubs!
Membership of the Club is available to all those who are keep Scots Dumpies and those interested in
supporting a traditional poultry breed anywhere in the world. If you would like to join, please contact
